The exhibition Maria Callas & Swarovski — Jewels on Stage is unique in the world. Its author is Professor Rinaldo Albanesi, Swarovski International Vice President of many years, who has composed it from a collection of stage jewellery made for Maria Callas by the Atelier Marangoni in Milan. The Atelier was founded by Ennio Marino Marangoni in 1940, and since the time of its establishment it has become a prominent producer of jewellery for stars of international opera houses, film studios and later television companies.

Maria Callas (1923—1977) was an opera star in the 1950s and 1960s. She attained fame not only by her exceptional interpretation, but also her lifestyle and elegance of her suits and jewellery.

The exhibition ‘Maria Callas & Swarovski – Jewels on Stage’ made its debut in Verona 2003, from where it moved to Vienna, Florence, Salzburg and London. In Prague, the complete collection of thirty sets of jewellery will be exhibited for the first time.
