The Museum of East Bohemia in Hradec Králové and the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague have prepared an exhibition of a remarkable oeuvre of the european painter of glass and porcelain active in Kunštát (today part of the municipality of Orlické Záhoří) at the estate of the Counts Kolowrat of Liebstein in East Bohemia. The glass painted in schwartzlot and red and Chinese and European porcelain, attributed exclusively to Ignác Preissler, are considered for more than a hundred years to be of European importance. The authors of the exhibition and the catalogue would like to present the life and oeuvre not only of the better-known Ignác Preissler, but also his father Daniel Preissler (1636—1733), the author of unique revers paintings on glass and also an undisputed porcelain painter. In addition to glass, porcelain and revers paintings on glass mostly from the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, museums in the Czech Republic and other prominent state and private collections (about 110 items), visitors will see rare archive sources and graphic patterns.
