Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague
A unique exhibition of young world artists and icons of Czech glass in Queen Anne's Summer Palace in Prague Castle.

From September 24th, 2010 to October 28th, 2010 we open an unconventionally conceived exhibition for you, charting the path of Czech glassmaking toward modernity and worldwide fame. Glass as an inspiring and fascinating material: from beer mugs, through graduate works of young glassmaking artists from around the world to the famous Czech artists. Glass across styles and techniques: austere and pragmatic as well as colorful and decorative, thousandfold repeated forms of industrial products as well as world-famous unique works, a touch of nostalgia as well as the most progressive artistic trends. Glass as the essence of talent, creativity and never-ending discovery. Stanislav Libenský and Jaroslava Brychtová, René Roubíček, Václav Cigler, Jiří Harcuba, František Vízner…alongside young artists who – still not linked to conventions – enter the world of glassmaking.
