UPM’s permanent exhibition is housed in five exhibition rooms, with exhibits from its holdings dating from Antiquity to the 20th century.

The names of the individual rooms indicate their thematic specialization: The entrance hall (Votive Hall) is devoted to the museum’s history, founders and most valuable works of art; The Story of Fibre — the textiles and fashion hall; Born in Fire — the hall of glass and ceramics; Print and Image — graphic arts and photography hall; and the Treasury — the hall of precious and base metals and miscellaneous materials. In the near future, the UPM will also open for public viewing its present clocks and watches depository located on the same floor that houses the permanent exhibition, under the name Time Machines. Depending on the space available, the Museum plans to eventually open an independent room devoted to furniture.
