An exhibition commemorating the 110th anniversary of the Moravian Tapestry Manufactory in Valašské Meziříčí, still in operation today, will open in the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. The display will explore the plant’s production ranging from the late 19th century to the present day. It will introduce the manufactory’s founder and first director Rudolf Schlattauer and feature its accomplishments achieved in collaboration with designers (Sutnar) and architects in the 1930s and 1940s. The tapestries produced in the later period -- the 1960s and 1970s -- were created from designs of artists (Medek, Kotík). The 1990s are represented by works of contemporary artists (David, Kokolia, Cihlář).
