In the past years, art lovers have become accustomed to the annual presentation in late June of new collections of outdoor ceramic objects. The Summer Ceramic Sculpture exhibition has taken place for the fourth time in a row in the chateau park surrounding the stronghold in Roztoky u Prahy.
The 17th Annual Exhibition “Summer Ceramic Sculpture” is organized by a civic society by the same name, in collaboration with the Museum of Central Bohemia in Roztoky that administers the park. The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague.
(Examples of works from last year’s exhibition are displayed in the garden of the Museum of Decorative Arts in the centre of Prague, which is open to the public during Museum Nights, exhibition openings and other occasions.)
There is free admission to the exhibition in Roztoky. Visitors who decide to spend a pleasant day on the site are welcome to visit other of the Roztoky museum’s noteworthy displays and permanent collections. The opening of the 17th Annual Exhibition “Summer Ceramic Sculpture” will take place on Saturday, June 20 at 4 p.m. The event will be accompanied by a music programme that will include a performance of the Al-Yaman Sound System ensemble.
Thematically and artistically varied works of the following artists are on display: Jana Bébarová, Marek Dias, David Exner, Václav Gatarik, Barbora Hapalová, Prof. Jan Hendrych, Kryštof Hošek, Lyubomir Jordanov Ivanov, Rudolf Jakubík, Irena Kárníková, Prof. Jan Koblasa, Petr Lada, Helena Ladová — Lišková, Markéta Pelechová, Naděžda Potůčková, Šárka Radová, Tereza Salabová, Jaroslav Šafr, Lubomír Šilar, Markéta Škopková, Petr Valer, Jindra Viková and guests of honour Pavel Knapek and Bohumil Zemánek in memoriam.
