A survey of contemporary Czech design, the exhibition showcases items drawn from the Museum’s glass, porcelain, fashion, jewellery, furniture and graphic design collections. Design as an important part of lifestyle is a field of particular interest to the Museum. Over the past decade, the Museum has systematically amassed objects in collaboration with prominent designers, manufacturers, and design studios and schools. The display includes works by students of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, designers Bára Škorpilová, Denisa Nová, Martina Nevařilová, Hana Zárubová, Jan Kaplický, Petr Babák, Jan Čtvrtník, Jiří Pelcl, Daniel Piršč, Rony Plesl and Maxim Velčovský, design studios Najbrt, Olgoj Chorchoj, Whitefruits, and others. The exhibition has been prepared within the context of Designblok ‘09.
