The Art, Life permanent exhibition guide introduces the main themes and key exhibits. It enables visitors to recall the richness of the museum’s collections and the unique atmosphere of the exhibition spaces. It presents a selection of eighty of the most interesting examples of applied art and design from the 1,300 objects on display, accompanied by commentary. They include rare liturgical objects and garments, luxurious tableware for festive feasts, unique Renaissance art chambers revealing the secrets of the microcosm, fashionable clothing or jewellery adorning and shaping the human body, as well as works of modern and contemporary design. All of these objects have changed and are changing human life both practically and symbolically.
