IL LIBERTY I LA RIVOLUZIONE EUROPEA DELLE ARTI

This lavish Italian-language catalogue was prepared by the Museum to accompany an exhibition held in 2017 in Terst (Scuerie e Museo storico del Castello di Mramare), in which the museum presented Art Nouveau art from its collection to the Italian audiences. The rerun of the successful exhibition Art Nouveau/Sezession 1900 on view in 2013–2015 at the Municipal House in Prague focuses on the foremost Czech artists, such as Alphonse Mucha, Jan Preisler, Jan Kotěra and Josef Gočár. The works representing Czech arts and crafts comprised poster art, graphic design, furniture, jewellery, glass and ceramics. In their selection, the curators took into account the historical relationships between Terst and Bohemia in the period before World War I.
