JAN VIČAR / SALLY BALL: HOLD. SO MUCH OF THE WORLD STAYS BEAUTIFUL

20. 07. 2022 – 08. 09. 2022

Exhibition concept: Jiří Vičar
Curator: Barbora Kundračíková
Graphic design: David Pajer

Hold is an authorial project by poet Sally Ball and graphic artist Jan Vičar, created between 2015 and 2018 inspired by their joint creative residency in Marnay-sur-Seine in the Champagne-Ardenne region. It consists of an authors’ book and a volume of separate linocut prints illustrating and expanding the original poetic images. The central theme is the “end of the human world”, the environmental crisis and the processes associated with it, some minimal and others transpiring on a macroscopic scale. As such, the presentation of this work to commemorate the Czech presidency of the EU Council can be regarded as highly symbolic.

The exhibition is held under the auspices of the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Mr. Petr Fiala.
