An exhibition of works by 98 glass masters, legendary figures of world and Bohemian art glass, as well as beginning artists – participants in the 11th International Glass Symposium (IGS) in Nový Bor.

The collection of their works on view can be admired for the diversity of the techniques employed and approaches to glass, encompassing “serious” objects that celebrate the beauty of the glass material, technical experiments, spatial installations, conceptual projects, stained-glass panels, pictures and items bordering on industrial design, to joyously liberal expressions in glass. The variegated and lively glass collection executed by masters in the field was produced in the autumn of 2012 in workshops and glassworks in and around Nový Bor, at what is the world’s largest event of its kind that marks a highly-respected tradition dating back thirty years.
It comprised an equal share of world-renowned glass artists, designers and craftspeople, as well as painters and fashion and product designers from home and abroad. Besides the Czech Republic, four generations of artists represented such countries as Japan, South Korea, China, Mexico, the United States, Lebanon, Israel, Russia, Great Britain, The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Hungary, Germany, Poland and Slovakia.
The exhibition is accompanied by an interactive programme for visitors with worksheets.
