The collection of portrait miniatures consists of around 200 examples. It is a representative collection examining the development of techniques and the art of portrait miniatures by excellent artists. An important aspect during the building of the collection was also to document the history of fashion and jewellery. Among the outstanding personalities of the Central European art of miniature represented in this collection are chiefly Moritz Michael Daffinger, Alexander Clarot and Ferdinand von Lutgendorf.
