Shortly before the First World War, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague organized a major photographic exhibition commemorating the 75th anniversary of invention of photography. In addition to collections of famous photographers of European and Czech modernism, it also featured the now forgotten Emanuel Kimla (1891 Prague—1968 Prague).
After working several years abroad (for R. Dührkoop in Berlin, among others) and practicing at home with Schlosser & Wenisch, Kimla founded his own portrait studio in Prague, which specialized in children photography, very popular at the time.
